Fashion Brands That Give Back

Even though I love fashion and clothing, I try to often remember how blessed and lucky I am to be where I am in life, able to collect material possessions. That’s why I think it’s important to find ways to give back. So if you’re like me and you love shopping guilt-free, ethical brands are a great way to build your wardrobe and feel good at the same time by knowing you are contributing to a good cause. These do-gooder companies support all kinds of great causes and have been super influential in making the world a better place. And after all, there’s nothing wrong with treating yourself by helping a charity at the same time.

Toms

This is a brand that has been around for awhile now, and was one of the first well-known brands with a “one-for-one” business model. For every pair of shoes you buy from them, they donate a pair to someone in need. What I love about this business model is that you know exactly how you are helping the cause, and exactly where your money is going.

Diff Eyewear

This is another great one-for-one company that is dedicated to donating reading glasses to people in need. Not only does every pair you buy directly help their cause, but they also have super fashionable and stylish shades that are also fairly affordable.

Checkout diffeyewear.com to see some great shades and deals.

Spiritual Gangster

I love this brand for their cute and stylish activewear clothing. Their mission is to create clothing for “a new generation of yogis set out to spread good vibes + give back.” For every item they sell, they donate a meal to someone in need. They also donate part of their proceeds to the Cambodian Children’s Fund, Phoenix Children’s Hospital, and Make A Wish Foundation. I especially love their super cute t-shirts with inspirational and cheeky slogans on them.

Sevenly

Sevenly is a unique brand because they give you the opportunity to choose what charity means the most to you, and thus which one you’d like to support with your purchase. You can look through their selected charities and find a cute t-shirt that supports things such as mental health, autism awareness, access to clean water, or child trafficking (just to name a few). Their designs are stylish and you can feel good wearing them knowing you’re supporting a good cause. Their goal each week is to raise $7,000 for the organization as a whole.

Checkout sevenly.org to support their various causes.

H&M Conscious Collection

Since H&M is one of the largest clothing brands worldwide, it’s a good thing to know they support sustainable fashion through one of their clothing lines, the Conscious Collection. All of the garments from this line are made from organic materials in order to support sustainable fashion (they also have a recycling program where you can bring in your old clothes for a discount). Best of all, their prices still reflect their affordable pricing.

Ivory Ella

This is a great brand whose proceeds go to saving the elephants. They have tons of clothes and accessories such as backpacks, drinkware, and hats. For everything you buy, 10% of your purchase goes directly to savetheleephants.org, which is dedicated to elephant research as well as prevention and awareness surrounding the ivory trade.

Checkout ivoryella.com to see their cute offerings.

Elegantees

Elegantees is on a mission to create clothing that fights sex trafficking. Since sex trafficking is such a large issue in Nepal, founder Katie Martinez is on a mission to employ 500 women from Nepal to manufacture her designs in order to support women in the workforce and provide an alternative for Nepalese women. They have a very cute selection of t-shirts, dresses, skirts, and cardigans.

ASOS Made in Kenya

Another huge e-commerce brand is ASOS, who are also dedicated to ethical fashion by partnering with SOKO Kenya, a clothing manufacturer from Kenya. The company ethically employs the local residents of their community, run a stitching academy to up-skill people, and provide training and access to healthcare for their local community. This means that your purchases from this clothing line directly benefit the local Kenyan workforce rather than dangerous sweat shops elsewhere.

You can find this line at asos.com

FEED

Another well-known brand, FEED, is dedicated to creating products that help feed children around the world. On their website for example, each product tells you how many school meals are given with your purchase. To date, they have provided over 100 million meals, proof that they are definitely making an important difference in children’s lives around the world.

There is no better feeling than knowing that you contributed to the betterment of society in some way. These brands are dedicated to making a difference in the world, which is why it’s so important we support them.
