Christmas Gift Guide Part II: Gifts for Him

Welcome to part II of my 2018 Holiday Shopping Guide, and this time, we’re focusing on the men! They can be hard to shop for, especially those husbands, dads, brothers, and uncles that seem to have everything and want nothing. So what do you get the sporty guy, the Mr. Fix-It, the tech guy, or the outdoorsman? I’ve got it all covered, and I’ve narrowed down my fave picks for any kind of man in your life. He may say he doesn’t need anything, but he hasn’t seen these gifts ;)

The Sport Enthusiast

This is for the guy who’s ultra sporty or super fit, or who loves sports and is always up-to-date on the latest sports statistics. But whether they’re all about tailgating or are always up for a quick round of golf with their buddies, I’ve found some great ideas that he’ll love. Some options are a mini indoor putting green, transport cooler, boxers, sports paraphernalia from his favorite team, workout gear, a smart water bottle, a FitBit, an indoor skydiving lesson, air hockey table, a sports-related video game, flask, or a foam roller. You can hit a home run with some of these ideas, and here are my top 3 picks:

YETI Tumbler, $24

Air Hockey Table, $70

FitBit Charge, $130

The Smart Guy

It can be super frustrating trying to come up with a gift idea for the guy who already has his den decked out with every tech toy imaginable. This guy loves the newest techie toys and has his phone and home systems all interconnected. Here are some ideas for the tech-obsessed guy in your life — a smart home system, a drone, voice-controlled speakers, wireless headphones, wireless phone charging pads, a temperature-control mug, a panoramic camera lens, or a glow alarm clock (it actually simulates the sunrise so it wakes you up naturally!). I’ve listed my top 3 picks:

Fire Tv Cube, $15

Ember Temperature Control Ceramic Mug, $79

AirPod Ear Buds, $159

The Homebody

Why leave the house if you don’t have to? This list features gift ideas for the guy who loves to kick it at home, who loves relaxing and staying cozy… the kind of guy who is always on top of the latest Netflix shows and gives great movie recommendations! For this guy, I suggest hoodies, a mug set, slippers, a turntable (for those who are also music junkies), a vintage edition game like Scrabble or Monopoly, a dart board, manly bedding, or a diffuser.

Polo Ralph Lauren Supreme Comfort Lounge Pants, $42

Tommy Hilfiger Evening Plaid Sheet Set, $85

Crosley Turntable, $119

Style Guy

This is for the guy in your life who is always on top of the latest trends, styles, and who takes pride in looking his best. He puts time into how he looks, and what better way to show him you notice than by buying him something stylish! For this guy, I suggest cool patterned socks, a dress shirt, cuffs links, sunglasses, a stylish pocket square, messenger bag, cologne, a small accessory such as a scarf (if you live somewhere cold), a masculine ring, or a watch. Here are my picks for the dapper dude in your life:

3-Pack Holiday Novelty Socks Set, $30

Hermès Eau de Citron Noir, $95

Ray Ban Clubmaster, $153

The Foodie

Do you know a guy who is obsessed with cooking or loves to bore his friends with endless details of his new single batch whisky? This is the guy who loves to socialize and host dinner parties to show off his latest techniques or gadgets. Whether he’s manning the grill or cooking up something inside, this guy loves to experiment, and you definitely want to be on his invite list. So treat the culinary enthusiast in your life to a food or drink-related gift that they’ll love to use! Some options are: a wine aerator, cold-brew coffee maker, a French press, apron, cigars, a knife set, aged bourbon or whiskey, beer-infused BBQ sauce, steak spice, or a Vine Box subscription. Vine Box is company that sends “boxes” of handpicked glasses of wine by the month. But here is my top 3 for this category:

JA Henckels 5-Piece Cheese Set, $60

Raleigh Denim Apron, $95

KitchenAid Cold-Brew Coffee Maker, $110

The Groomer

This is the guy who takes pride in his grooming, the one with perfectly coiffed hair and a trimmed beard. They make regular trips to the barber, have a signature scent, and know how to properly scrub, shave, and moisturize. For the groomers out there, I suggest cologne, beard oil, a DOPP kit, a shaving set, grooming kits, or a monthly subscription to a grooming box. These are great boxes such as Dollar Shave Club and BirchboxMen that offer customizable beard and hair products that are of great quality. You can purchase a monthly subscription or a one-time box depending on your price range. My top picks for this guy are:

Birchbox, $10/month

Jack Black Balm Set, $15

WP Leather Dopp Kit, $85

The Outdoorsmen

This category represents the ultimate adventurer who can’t live without his Swiss Army knife, mountain bike, or other sports equipment. He’s drawn to adventure, the great outdoors, and “roughing it” — the tough guy who thinks he can fix and do anything. For this kind of guy, I suggest a Yeti Tumbler, front-loading toolbox, campfire essentials, a backpack, quality outdoor equipment and gear, a portable outdoor pizza oven, snowshoes, tenting equipment, or durable clothing. Here are my top 3 picks:

Cast Iron Campfire Pie Iron, $25

The Kaufmann Mercantile Guide, $15

Teardrop Hanging Chair, $147

There is no better feeling than giving someone a gift that they really love, and you’ll be the best wife/girlfriend/daughter/mom/sister with this list!

There are exactly 3 weeks until Christmas, so get your shopping done before it’s too late — when you get it done early, it gives you more time to relax and enjoy all the other amazing things about this time of year.

As always, good luck and happy shopping!
