7 Tips for Being a Boss Babe

Are you looking to take your life or business to the next level? The term #BossBabe has become super popular in the past few years, exemplifying an era where women can do it all. This means being the BOSS of your own life — knowing and learning how to master confidence, set goals, remain focused, know your worth, and have laser focus on what you want to accomplish it and how you plan on making it happen. I am so blessed to be surrounded by tons of these women who are strong, confident, and inspiring. Ultimately, it’s all about learning to embrace who you are and GO FOR IT.

Here are my 8 tips for being a #BossBabe:

Mindset is Everything

What you think, you become. Our mindset is everything — it reflects how we choose to see ourselves and the world around us. A world-renowned Stanford University psychologist analyzed the effects of a Growth vs. Fixed Mindset. She concluded that people who have a growth mindset (those who believe their abilities and intelligence can be developed with effort and persistence) are much more likely to achieve success throughout their life, business, and relationships. This reflects your ability to break free of the thoughts that hold you back (think: I can’t do this, I’m not good enough). When you believe that a person’s true potential is unknown and therefore limitless, you will be able to tackle more problems, work through important issues, and create new pathways for your life.

Make It Happen

Those people that you admire most? The women (and men) who get sh** done and have made things happen in their life? They didn’t get there by waiting for things to happen, waiting to get courage, or for the “right time”. No, they just went for it… and more than that, they consistently go for it on a day-to-day basis. Success isn’t a one-time thing — it’s the repeated efforts of working at it (whatever it may be) that will make you successful in the long term. Never give up that hustle, because it will get you to where you want to be and beyond.

It Takes a Village

Have you ever heard that famous quote “show me who your friends are and I’ll show you who you are”? Well this applies to your biz as well, and when you collaborate with people who are like-minded in their motivation and drive for success, you will forever reap the benefits. This is because people who are goal setters and motivators have an influence over how effective you are. Think about it like this — have you ever been hanging out with someone who’s being super negative and unenthusiastic, and suddenly your good mood turns bad? Well this is because our environment and the people we surround ourselves with have a direct outcome on our success. Choose people in your circle that never fail to help you out, give you advice, and show through example what it means to work hard and be effective. These people have lots to teach us, not just to keep us positive and motivated but also to help us when we need it most. Because some days it takes a village, and there is no shame in admitting that.

It’s important for us to have aspirations and set goals. BUT, there is only so much we can focus on at once, and in order to be most effective, we have to make choices that will set us up for success. Whether it be taking your business to the next level, dropping those last few pounds, or reorganizing your life, we all have those things we’ve been putting off. While all of your goals might be important in the long run, it’s impossible to make too many life changes at once. Instead, focus on 1-2 big goals (ex: changing your diet or building a six-figure business) and use the SMART method to make them realistic and achievable for you. The SMART acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound, and refers to making your goals specific and applicable so that you have a guideline and timeline for completing them.

Take the Leap

In order to step into your true destiny, you must free yourself from old habits and fears. I get it — we ALL have those things we keep meaning to accomplish but are afraid to take that leap of faith for fear of failure. We all have fears that are holding us back from reaching our full potential. But, taking that leap into the unknown is ultimately likely to be very rewarding. Don’t wait around to take a chance in the hopes that you’ll feel “ready” one day. Instead, replace your fear of the unknown with an excitement for what’s to come. Our path is rarely laid out in front of us, so we must push always forward and take chances. Celebrate all you’ve accomplished thus far. And remember that if you don’t try, you’ll never know. It’s okay to be scared. But go for it and do it anyway.

Know your Worth

This is one of the single most important aspects about learning how to be a #BossBabe. Know your value and you will never settle for anything less than what you’re worth. Most often, the biggest obstacle to someone’s success is a lack of self-worth. As a result, some of us are willing to settle for less — a life, career, and even relationship that isn’t worth our value. However, YOU and you only are in charge of your life, so take ownership of your self-worth and validate yourself. Celebrate and love the things that make you so uniquely you. When you master this, your whole life will change, and you will begin to be the leader of your own life and your business.

Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff

Don’t let stress get the best of you! If you constantly focus on the little mishaps and problems that may arise, you will lose sight of the big picture. Life can definitely get hectic, and with all of our responsibilities, it can be easy to get over-extended. When you start feeling this way, take some time to decompress by doing something you love. Whether you have 5 minutes or a few hours, I suggest getting some exercise, taking a bath, having a glass of wine (or two!), or indulge in a guilty pleasure such as watching an episode of your fave TV show. We hold stress in various places inside our body, so when you decompress, tension in it will release and it will be much easier to tackle what’s next. And remember — stress most definitely does NOT go with your outfit.

Life is a constant stream of new challenges, and I love surrounding myself with lots of other #BossBabes who are committed to seeing the growth of all women in pursuit of their dreams. I’ve met so many amazing women along the way, and I’ve found success following these 8 tips so I hope you can too. And remember, stay focused and stay sparkly.
